Letter from the Director-April

April comes in with a lot of Coronavirus challenges for the food pantry.

We are still distributing food but in a different way. Our families have to fill in their grocery sheet outside. We then fill their order to the best of our ability and take it out to their vehicle. There is no face to face contact. It is hard to get used to but we’re doing the best we can.

We have a few volunteers who are staying home because they have family at home who are compromised and don’t want to bring anything home to their loved one.

We are not able to purchase food in bulk from the grocery stores like we used to. Our shelves are empty so every bit of donated canned good help immensely.

Easter is right around the corner. We have Easter baskets donated again by Bethel Lutheran Church. We have purchased hams from Walmart. It will be a different Easter this year.

I hope this letter finds you and your families healthy. Please continue to social distance and stay safe.

Julie-Director
