Letter from the Director-September

Lookee it is September 1st and I’m getting my article done.  It has been a very busy summer with students off of school and working at the pantry and our volunteers taking summer vacations.

School is back in session starting today so please drive safely and watch out for school buses.  St. Paul’s Lutheran was very generous again this year with supplying filled back packs for those kids who did not fit the Waukesha County Backpack Coalition guidelines.

Piggly Wiggly’s Pizza Burger fundraiser was a great success and $1,800 was donated.  Thanks

Thanks to all the summer gardeners.  Muskego El was close to 300 pounds if they didn’t exceed that with today’s donation.  The Historical Society has come a few times a week with their fresh produce.  Basse’s has donated corn and the list is endless from private gardens who share with us.  Our families have eaten well and healthy this summer.

With that being said I have a long list of bare spaces on our shelves so please keep us in mind when you do your grocery shopping.  We are always in need of spaghetti, canned fruit, canned meats, and pasta & rice sides.

Muskego is very generous and we appreciate all you do for us.

Til next month.

Julie
