From the Director-June

The busy summer has already started.  The first thing I have to do in my letter is to thank Thompson Dental in Muskego who had a “Stuff the Van” food drive for us on Saturday May 31st.  They had a fire truck, bouncy house, the fire department’s safe house and our van in their parking lot.  We received 1/2 van load full of food and $102.00 in donations.  A fun time was had by all that participated.  We also received a very generous donation from Hormel Foods.  Steve Moxley the Plant Manager from the Mexican Accent division in New Berlin with his Plant Controller Erik Johnson delivered a $10,000 check.  We will use that donation to keep our shelves stocked during the summer months.  We received over 8000 pounds of food from the postal workers “Stamp out Hunger”.  That food is already gone.  Muskego Elementary has the gardens planted ready for the harvest to come to the food pantry. We look forward to the fresh produce that is donated during the summer.  As always please keep us in mind when you do your weekly grocery shopping.  You can also support us by purchasing The Community Choice card formerly the Cash Coupon.  The proceeds keep our shelves stocked and milk and meat in our refrigerators.

Thanks for your support.
