From the Director – May

Look it is May 1st and I am writing my letter.  Still cold and rainy.  That seems to be the norm around here.  We are quietly waiting in anticipation of the Postal Worker’s “Stamp out Hunger” food drive on Saturday May, 10, 2014.  You should be receiving a reminder in the mail some time this week and then please remember to put your non-perishable foods out by your mail box on that morning.  This is the biggest food drive of the year and we really need the donations to help fill our shelves for the summer slump.  We are preparing for summer already looking towards purchasing food to keep our shelves stocked.  I noticed some students out by the raised garden beds in front of Muskego El.  Hopefully they will be planting for us again this year.  Please keep the food pantry in mind when you are planting your garden.  We really appreciate all the fresh produce from the community gardeners.  Plant a row for the Pantry!  As always we appreciate all the food in the barrels at Pick N Save, Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, and all around town.  The community keeps our doors open.

Thank you.

Julie – Director
