From the Director – March

Is this ever going to end???  High of 20 today…woo hoo!  This constant cold has taken it’s toll on the heating bills of everyone especially those who have to make a decision between paying their We Energies bill or feeding their family.  Thank you to Tess Corners Elementary who had a Hats for Hunger food drive that donated over 800 non-perishable food items to us.  Scouting for Hunger should be coming up in the next couple of weeks.  Hopefully you won’t have to put your food out in below zero temps.  Many thanks to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church who donated $1,100.00 towards the purchase of a new commercial freezer.  We are asking if anyone can help match those donations so we can purchase a new commercial freezer which is more energy efficient and will replace 3 very much older freezers that we have now.  We have been quoted $3,400.00 and are well on our way to getting donations to cover the cost.  If you wish to help you can donate on our web page and designate it for the freezer or you can mail or drop off any donation.  As always Muskego has been a very generous community always stepping up when the food pantry needs help.  Please keep us in mind when you are grocery shopping, every little bit helps.  Stay warm and see you in April where hopefully I won’t have to comment on this terrible cold.

Julie
